Shredders: What are the first techniques you learned when starting to play guitar?

Alright, well. Learn the power chord technique and then... SCALES!! Practice scales everyday until you can play them backwards and hammer them so you don't even need to strum. Then wen you try sweep picking do it slow, I you do it fast wrong your brain with think its normal an it will be harder to eventually learn how. Start it off slow and work your way up, you can do it! Also remember to practice with metradomes to get better timing :D
